A quick early morning failed to locate yesterday's Shelduck, but the southern end did host a Green Sandpiper, two Snipe and a total of four Common Sandpiper.
However, there was a little more interest during a return visit in the evening with two Wheatear and three Meadow Pipit in the field opposite the entrance to the Canoe Club. One of the Wheatear looked spot on for a Greenland race, much more upright than the second bird with longer legs and a warmer plumage.
The southern end produced a total of three Green Sandpiper and this morning's Snipe and Common Sandpiper were still present. A Great White Egret was also seen.
