A flying visit before work turned out to be rather productive with four Ringed Plover on West Pool when I arrived. However, they soon flew south and were lost to view, then amazingly, a fifth bird flew in and landed. So a total of five Ringed Plover this morning, which must be some kind of record count for the site.
Also this morning, a single Snipe was also one West Pool, my first of the autumn and a Great White Egret was near the Sailing Club. Two Common Sandpiper were on West Pool with another three at the southern end where two Green Sandpiper were also present. Not bad for a ten minute stop.
