Sutton Bingham - Thu 12 Sep

I arrived at the reservoir mid-afternoon and managed about ninety minutes on site with mixed results. Highlight was a small group of four Whinchat present together in the field opposite the entrance to the Canoe Club (my highest single count for Sutton Bingham) with three Yellow Wagtail in the neighbouring cattle field.
The southern end of the reservoir held pretty much the same assortment of birds that it has done for the past few days with a single Teal,  a Great White Egret, five Common Sandpiper and two Green Sandpiper.
A Great Black-backed Gull was on West Pool and a second Great White Egret was viewable from the Fishing Lodge where a flock of ten Linnet flew over. There was also a good number of Swallows and House Martins today, most of which seemed to be heading south.
