So the lockdown has been relaxed and today I was able to get out to Sutton Bingham and have a look around, though the site is still closed. I had managed a few brief visits during April on my occasional trips in to work as well as a couple of walks over to the reservoir from home, a brief summary of April sightings as follows:
1 April - Mute Swan, three Teal and at least five singing Chiffchaff
7 April - Singing Blackcap
8 April - three Common Sandpipers
17 April - three Swallows
21 April - two Common Sandpipers
23 April - five Common Sandpipers
28 April - one House Martin
So nothing unexpected but a few additions to the patch year list.
Today didn't really deliver though with just a single Common Sandpiper on the northern causeway and a Little Egret opposite the Sailing Club. There were a few singing Whitethroat around the site and a handful of Linnet were noted.
