Sutton Bingham - Sun 16 Aug

A few visits over the past week have produced nothing more than Common Sandpipers and Green Sandpipers with the exception of a very smart Willow Warbler in the car park on 12 August and a migrant Sedge Warbler near the sleeper bridge on 13 August.

However, today there was a little more excitement as a lunchtime visit in the rain produced three Black-tailed Godwits and a Greenshank at the southern end of the reservoir.

A total of three Green Sandpipers and six Common Sandpipers were also present. I then headed round to the Fishing Lodge where I found a couple of Wheatears.

So a few decent birds on the patch today, albeit no additions to the patch year list, but good to see something different.
